A Knoxville man was arrested on December 24 after he kept screaming in his Madisonville hotel room.
Madisonville Police Sgt. Kyle Day said he was sent to the hotel on Highway 411 where he could hear the man in Room 6 screaming and banging on the door and windows, scaring the other tenants and the manager.
Day said he knocked on the door, identified himself and asked the man to come out and speak. The man said he couldn’t get out, that they would have him if he did.
Day said he showed his badge through the window and the man then opened the door and was identified as Kenneth McDaniel.
Day said McDaniel was shirtless, sweating profusely and had blood on his hands. When asked what was going on, McDaniel said they were going to look for him and they were waiting for him.
Day asked who was after him and McDaniel said his cousins and he didn’t know why they were after him but they were and he wasn’t safe.
Day asked McDaniel to return to the room, which McDaniel did, saying he had to go to jail, that he wouldn’t be safe anywhere else.
Day asked him if he had taken any drugs and McDaniel said he had used methamphetamine in the past three days. Day asked him if he had any drugs on him and McDaniel said no, but he had a straw he was using to make meth.
Day said there was blood on the wall where McDaniel had hit him with his hands.
McDaniel, 43, East Magnolia Avenue, Knoxville, has been charged with disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
