US hotel company Sonder Holdings Inc. will hire dozens of staff for its new 401-unit Dubai property at Business Bay.
Federico Cerimonia, managing director of Sonder in Dubai, said the third 35-storey hotel will nearly double the total number of units in Dubai and be the largest property in its global portfolio, reflecting the importance of the Dubai market.
The hotel will recruit about 50 people in various fields such as waiters, housekeepers, customer service executives and others.
“We have a number of vacancies and we are always looking for dynamic people to join our mission to revolutionize hospitality through design and technology. Since our launch in Dubai in 2019, we have built a team of people passionate and dedicated people who deliver an exceptional experience to our customers every day,” he said.
Globally, as of the first quarter of 2022, Sonder has 7,700 units worldwide and an additional 11,600 contract units in the pipeline.
The company offers serviced apartments for stays of one night to several months, aimed at tourists, young families and all types of business travelers, including digital nomads, whether they are in Dubai for a few days or a period of several weeks or months.
“The United Arab Emirates and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region remain a key focus for Sonder’s future growth. The Business Bay property represents an 86% increase in the number of units in the city, from 465 to 866 in total. Our approach is to work closely with local property partners to grow our regional footprint, providing our modern technology-based service and thoughtfully designed accommodations,” said Cerimonia.
“The opening of our third location in Dubai makes us one of the largest operators of serviced apartments in the market, and the region remains a priority for Sonder,” said Martin Picard, co-founder and head of world real estate at Sonder.
