This is 31.1% more than in November 2020, but 63.6% less than before the November 2019 pandemic.
Compared to November of the previous year, the number of overnight stays by visitors amounted to 127,500 overnight stays, or 4.6% more.
In the 11 months of this year, there were 1.2 million foreign and resident visitors to tourist accommodation establishments, 14.5% less than in 11 months last year and 54.4 % less than during this period in 2019.
In November 2021, tourist accommodation establishments accommodated 39,800 Latvian residents, 6.7% more than in November 2020. The number of nights they spent was 77,500, and it decreased by 4, 6% compared to November of last year.
Latvian visitors stayed mainly in Riga (34.7%), Jūrmala (14.2%), Liepāja (7.5%), the municipality of Cēsis (3.8%), Daugavpils (3.7%), Kuldīga Municipality (3.3%) and Sigulda Municipality (2.9%).
In November 2021, the number of foreign visitors out of the total number of visitors in accommodation establishments accounted for 39.6% or 26.2 thousand, which is 2 times more than in November 2020, but it is still 78.1 % less than in November 2019 before the pandemic. The number of nights spent by foreign visitors, compared to November last year, increased by 22.9% and amounted to 50,000.
The majority of foreign visitors came from Germany (2.7 thousand), Lithuania (2.6 thousand), Estonia (2.5 thousand), Russia (2 thousand), United Kingdom (1.9 thousand), Poland (1.4 thousand) and Ukraine (1.1 thousand) .
Most foreign visitors stayed in Riga (87.7%), Jūrmala (2.1%) and Liepāja (2%).
