Inside the W Brisbane hotel room which has been dubbed Australia’s sexiest suite

Hidden on the top floor of one of Queensland’s most luxurious hotels, a suite awaits with a cheeky little black box perfect for couples coming out of lockdown.

Is it hot in here, or is it just me?

That was my first thought after arriving in what has been dubbed Australia’s ‘sexiest’ hotel suite.

It has been over two years since I last set foot on a plane and entered the sunshine state, and even longer for my husband who joined me for the 24 hours of … *insert imagination here*.

A cocktail on arrival and a cheeky ‘hello’ from the reception staff, we were swiftly whisked from the lobby of the ultra-luxury W Brisbane hotel to the sky, otherwise known as penthouse suite on the 33rd floor.

Sitting atop the tower, the entrance to Suite 3306 shimmered at the end of the dimly lit hallway.

When the doors opened, the city of Brisbane spread out before us, which was quite appropriate given the theme of the stay.

But among the quirky decor, glitzy cocktail bar, and bright color palette of our suite was a single black box, flanked by a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and a single note.

“Love how you buzz” is all it reads – which made a whole lot more sense after opening the box below.

Filled with the best and finest sex toys for couples from Lovehoney, the Mini ‘Play’ Bar inside the suite had everything you needed for a romantic weekend – from handcuffs and vibrators to lingerie and lube .

Worth over $800 on its own, the best part is that it’ll slip right into your suitcase for the trip home (enjoy scanning this bag through airport security).

Having been confined within our own four walls for what seems like an eternity, W Brisbane and Lovehoney’s partnership isn’t just about toys, it’s about outfits too.

During the night, each couple will be adjusted to their size and will receive lingerie from the brands’ new Valentine’s Day range in their room.

If you’re a little…overwhelmed…with the contents of the little black box, clients will also have access to a “Concierge Sexologist” service, where couples can book a free phone consultation through award-winning sex therapist, the Chantelle Otten clinic.

In bed, the suite also offers exclusive access to a Love How You Buzz streaming service featuring educational sexual wellness videos available on demand from experts such as Chantelle Otten, Cam Fraser and Tamica Wilder, as well as lists. reading sessions organized by coaches to help set the mood.

To refuel, the overnight stay also includes an in-room breakfast for two, because nothing says Valentine’s Day more than breakfast in bed together.

And for those moments of relaxation, the box also contains an amazing rose petal bath to use in the suite’s tub – or, like all the other toys and trinkets – you can take home for later.

The “Love How You Buzz” package will run from February 14 to March 31 with rooms starting at $1,569 per couple.

Refueling is key, isn’t it, so breakfast in bed outdoors – Brisbane is full of amazing new restaurants for you to dress up and dine out.

If you want to escape the hotel for dinner, slip into the corner of Rothwells on Edward Street. Just a five-minute walk from the lobby, this bar and grill combines intimacy and vintage charm with a carefully curated menu and stunning cocktail list.

The interior draws inspiration from around the world, transporting diners to a world of glamor that’s fitting considering it’s on the ground floor of the heritage-listed Rothwells building.

If you’re a steak lover, you can’t pass up the Angus rump – half-cooked – with house fries on the side.

For those looking for something a little lighter but without skimping on flavor, opt for the reef trout and a baby carrot rib.

In addition to a healthy grill menu, you also have a few mouth-watering pasta options to choose from, including the Crab, Chilli and Garlic Bucatini or the Macaroni with Mushrooms and Aged Cheddar.

But if there’s one dish to leave room for, it’s freshly baked madeleines with a whiskey caramel dip. Delicate and delicious, this is the perfect sharing plate to finish.

Nothing says Sunday like a boozy brunch, and with Three Blue Ducks taking up residence on the third floor of W Brisbane, you can literally roll out of bed and fall into a food coma (with a view).

The bottomless $90 brunch menu will keep you full for the day with seven courses and for an additional $39 you can also grab two hours of cocktails (well worth it – especially for their version of a mimosa).

Overlooking the Brisbane River and local acoustic music playing throughout the morning, standout dishes include the Moreton Bay Bugs with XO Butter and Lime as well as the Wood Roasted Potato Gnocchi, Green Peas, Broccolini and salsa verde.

Whether it’s getting a pampering treatment at the Away Spa or simply relaxing with a cocktail or two in the indoor/outdoor pool on level four – despite being in town, the hotel’s interior is a world away from the bustle below.

The hotel’s swimming pool adjoins the WET terrace which overlooks the Brisbane River. It’s the perfect place to cool off and sip a margarita or a glass of sparkling wine.

During the last weeks of summer, there is a pile of Sun and pasture packages from $89 as part of the W Brisbane and Veuve Clicquot collaboration, so you can think about your wine and dinner order and just enjoy the atmosphere instead.

For a little more zen, the vitality pool in the hotel’s spa complex on level five is the perfect place to escape the noises of the city and immerse yourself in the mineral waters for 30 minutes. It really is the perfect way to end your stay.
