Maciej Kutak has been appointed Managing Director of Universal Music Poland and Senior Vice President of Central and Eastern Europe (EEC).
Kutak’s new role will take effect on January 1, 2022.
In a newly created position, Kutak will be responsible for Universal Music’s operations in Greece, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary, expanding his current role as Managing Director of Universal Music Poland.
He will remain based in Warsaw and report to Frank Briegmann, CEO of Universal Music Central Europe and Deutsche Grammophon.
Kutak will work alongside existing CEOs and leaders in each territory – Tomas Filip (CZ / SK / HU), Ioana Fesnic (RO) and Margarita Matsa (GR) – to strengthen UMG’s operations in the region.
Elsewhere in the region, Maxim Vlasov, MD, Universal Music Russia, will continue to report directly to Briegmann.
Universal says the new structure will allow “greater cooperation and coordination between divisions, both locally and across the ECE region.”
Maciej Kutak has been Managing Director of Universal Music Poland since 2019.
During this period, he contributed to the digitization of UMG’s Polish operations and the launch of Def Jam Poland.
Kutak also led the expansion of its distribution and artist services divisions.
“I congratulate Maciej on his appointment.”
