Opening of a new 52-room Napier hotel: Swiss-Belboutique in an existing building

A new five-star hotel opened today in an existing building in Napier.

Gavin Faull, President and CEO of Swiss-Belhotel International, said the new Swiss-Belboutique Napier is open at 36 Munroe St and is the city’s first international brand hotel.

It offers 52 rooms and suites, a bar and lounge area, a fully equipped fitness room and 25 secure car parks on site.

Faull is a former Taranaki farmer who founded the global chain, although he today expressed deep disappointment with the government, which he said was “trying to ruin” the tourism industry.

Room rates range from an average of $ 220 / night to $ 250 / night, and rooms range in size from 32m² to 60m² each.

The workforce was still being finalized, but around 27 people will be hired once the process is complete.

The new hotel is one of the largest in the city where the Scenic Hotel Te Pania Napier operates.

In June, the Herald reported on renovating a building to create the hotel when it opened, when it would only take place in a few weeks.

Swiss-Belhotel operates four hotels in New Zealand and one in Australia.

It has hotels in Auckland and Napier, and two in Queenstown as well as one in Sydney.

Around 125 hotels and projects which are new hotel developments in 19 countries.

The hotel is close to the Art Deco Tour, New Zealand National Aquarium and a 10 minute walk to MTG Hawke’s Bay (museum, theater, gallery) and very close to
The Napier Conference Center.

It is also a hotel that accepts animals.
