Police: stolen vehicle leads to several arrests in hotel room

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Mesquite police have arrested several people inside a hotel room following the discovery of stolen guns last weekend.

Mesquite Police found a stolen vehicle parked outside a hotel and a woman standing next to the car on Sunday morning. During a subsequent investigation, officers determined which room the stolen vehicle was associated with and arrested these individuals.

The Mesquite Police Department searched the suspects, their stolen vehicle and two hotel rooms. They recovered a stolen 9mm loaded handgun, 10 ounces of marijuana packaged for sale, over 2 ounces of methamphetamine packaged for sale, approximately 3 grams of heroin, stolen identifying information and several items of illegal drug paraphernalia.

Timothy Amerson, 29, of California, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a stolen vehicle, criminal possession of methamphetamine, criminal possession of heroin and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Angel Bennett, 34, of California, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of methamphetamine, criminal possession of heroin, criminal possession of a stolen credit card and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tony Seegmiller, 29, of UT, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.

Joel Segler, 42, of UT, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a stolen firearm, criminal possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, three counts of possession of marijuana, heroin and methamphetamine with intent to sell, criminal possession of identifying information for illegal purposes and the offense of possession of drug-related accessories.

The suspects were taken to the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada
