Qatar has added several countries to its red list, including Greece, Portugal and Turkey, citing the country’s public health ministry, Doha-based Time Out Doha reports.
There are now 57 countries on Qatar’s Red List, and nine destinations on the Outstanding Red List.
The new red list comes into effect on Saturday January 8 at 7 p.m.

Vaccinated residents from Red List countries will be exempt from hotel quarantine, but will have to undergo a PCR test 72 hours before arrival, and a second PCR within 36 hours of arrival. Unvaccinated residents will need to self-quarantine at home for seven days.
Vaccinated visitors will need to take a test 72 hours before arrival and book a quarantine hotel for two days.
Unvaccinated visitors will be subject to a hotel quarantine for seven days, unless they have first-degree relatives living in Qatar and arriving on pre-issued family visas. In this case, they will be able to quarantine themselves at home upon arrival.
Qatar has also updated its Outstanding Red List, with fully vaccinated residents expected to quarantine at home for two days upon arrival, and fully vaccinated tourists expected to quarantine at a hotel for two days.
Unvaccinated residents will need to be quarantined at the hotel for seven days, while unvaccinated visitors are not allowed to enter Qatar.
