Solidarity Transport Hub opens another important tender procedure | Sponsored

The subject of the call for tenders relates mainly to the services related to the technical review of the design file (DRF – Design Review Function) of the Solidarity Transport Pole and to the guarantee of the best quality of the design file.

The purpose of the DRF is the ongoing assurance of the technical accuracy and completeness of the design documentation, obtained from the Principal Architect, Principal Civil Engineer and Supporting Infrastructure Engineer .

“The Solidarity Transport Hub is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in Central and Eastern Europe and, at the same time, an EU infrastructure investment priority for the years to come,” said Michał Ćwik. , director of the design and engineering department of the airport sub-program at the STH. company.

“Therefore, we hope that the bidding process will involve the most experienced and capable contractors in the world, as only entities with the appropriate knowledge and experience, specializing in the design and technical review of design documentation in the airport industry, can guarantee the most demanding design quality conditions.”

Collaboration with a qualified entity in monitoring the design documentation preparation process, as well as an appropriate review, will allow effective collaboration of all STH designers and other partners.

This process will affect the detection of potential design errors or cross-industry collisions at an early stage. This will benefit the proper and efficient completion of the planned construction works in accordance with the planned schedule.

The procedure takes place in the form of an open call for tenders. The Society hopes for the participation of engineering companies from all over the world.

Documentation of the procedure is available on the SmartPZP platform:

So far, under the airport component, the company has announced four key tenders for design work and design-related services: Master Architect (MA), Airport System Infrastructure Designer (ASID), Master Civil Engineer (MCE) and Support Infrastructure Engineer (SIE).

The Solidarity Transport Hub is a new program for the development of transport in Poland – an extremely important strategic investment for the economic development of the country and the region and, of the utmost importance, for the security of Europe as a whole.

It is a huge infrastructure project on an incredible scale to quickly and efficiently integrate air, rail and road transport.

The STH project includes, among other things, railway investments: a transport hub at the airport in central Poland and a network of new, mainly high-speed railway lines with a total length of almost 2,000 km.

This will allow traveling between Warsaw and the biggest cities in Poland in less than 2.5 hours.

According to the latest IATA air traffic forecast, by 2060 Solidarity Airport will attract around 850 million passengers and more than 35 million tonnes of air cargo to Poland, benefiting the country and the region .

The Solidarity Transport Hub is the planned transfer hub between Warsaw and Łódź, which will integrate air, rail and road transport.

As part of this project, the Solidarity Airport will be built at a distance of 37 km west of Warsaw, on an area of approx. 3,000 hectares; in the first phase, it will have a capacity of 45 million passengers per year.

The STH will also include rail investments: a hub in the immediate vicinity of the airport and connections within the country, which will connect Warsaw to the largest cities in Poland with a journey time of up to 2.5 hours.

The investment is expected to create more than 150,000 new jobs. In the area of the STH, the airport city will be established, which will include, among others, fair and congress, conference and office facilities.

The STH is wholly owned by the Treasury. It is recognized as a strategic company from the point of view of the country’s interests.
